  2. I do not see it. It's like you are taking more out of context than has already happen over the years. Like in Numbers 31:25-40. The Lord asked for in tribute for humans & animals alike to be to be given to him as offerings. How does one give the Lord an offering? Sacrifice. Jephthah clearly did the same as Moses & Aaron had done.

  3. Rev,
that is not an instance of human sacrifice...
40 The persons were 16,000, of which the LORD’s tribute was 32 persons. 41 And Moses gave the tribute, which was the contribution for the LORD, to Eleazar the priest, as the LORD commanded Moses

This was a *tribute*...the people were given as slaves to the Levites.

Even the word used for "offering" had nothing to do with a burnt sacrifice. It was akin to a monetary "levy" to God. Israelites could offer people as an offering (Lev 27:1-7) but it was was paid by valuing the individual monetarily. Similarly, the Midianites that were used as "tribute" to the Lord were given to the Levites (as was the monetary value of other individuals consecrated to God).

The words "offering" and "tribute" ought to tip others off that human sacrifice are not being referred to here in Numbers 31 as human sacrifice (i.e. Molechism) was banned by God in the Law.
