Christians, implicitly and in some cases explicitly, imply that when we die, all of our thoughts, actions and pretty much everything is recorded somewhere, and even more, that your consciousness will endure for eternity, whether in bliss or in torment.
Are we adults? Is there some evidence I'm unaware of?
Yeah I know this comment will get completely ignored by those who'd like to nitpick philosophical arguments.
Ok, let me simplify. Mariano, when you die do you think you will have an afterlife? I know the answer, but you have learned to ignore the absurdity of this.
ScaryJesus....what doe the afterlife have to do with this post? But in answer, if Bible is true and I know it is, then an omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent personal being, who created all there is out of nothing has promised that each of us will be held accountable for "every idle word" (Matt 12:36), thought, and action during the time we are gifted with on earth. We are also told that the only way we can spend eternity with God is by putting our faith in Jesus Christ. Otherwise God judges us on our own merits...surefire way to end up in hell. The evidence is all around you. Start with the fact of creation...this will lead you to the next step.

This is why it's so difficult for me to engage a Christian in a conversation about Biblical evidence, inconsistencies and authorship. Much less evolution.
hey sj, I believe in the afterlife, there is little to no evidence of this afterlife I believe in, I believe in it based upon faith, now what is your response to this?

I'd say: "Thank you for being honest with me and yourself about your religion being based on faith alone."
Then I'd probably try to change the subject to something we could discuss rationally, like Black Sabbath, or Bret Michaels Rock of Love Tour Bus.

I'm starting to get tired of the pointlessness.
